Frequently asked questions.

What kinds of services do you offer?

We offer two integrated streams of care:

  • Clinical Counselling, provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors

  • Outreach Support Services, delivered by Junior and Senior Support Workers

We also offer creative therapies, including Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Therapeutic Recreation, which may be part of either stream depending on your needs. Services are available in-clinic, in-home, virtually, or in community settings.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can reach out to us directly through our Contact or Booking page to get started.

What’s the difference between Clinical Counselling and Outreach Support?

Clinical Counselling is psychotherapy provided by master's-level therapists. It includes assessment, emotional processing, trauma integration, and therapeutic guidance.

Outreach Support is a non-clinical stream that offers hands-on, relationship-based support through activities like recreation, co-regulation, routine-building, executive functioning coaching, and creative engagement. Outreach workers are not mental health clinicians, but are trained in trauma-informed, neurodevelopmental approaches and work closely with our counselling team.

How does intake work?

We usually start with an initial caregiver or client consult (50 or 80 minutes). This allows us to understand your goals and needs, determine which services are the best fit, and ensure we’re aligned in approach. For children or youth, we typically meet with parents first before seeing the child individually.

Do you use behavioural or compliance-based interventions?

No. We do not use or endorse compliance-based approaches that rely on control, rewards, consequences, or obedience. Instead, we focus on co-regulation, autonomy, and relational safety. Our interventions are rooted in compassion, attunement, and developmentally appropriate expectations.

What age groups do you work with?

We work with children, youth, and adults. Our creative and outreach services are especially well-suited for children and teens, including those who are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or who have had limited success with talk-based therapy.

Do you work with two-home or co-parenting families?

Yes. We have extensive experience supporting children and caregivers across multiple homes. We offer neutral, child-centred care and work with both caregivers (when possible) to ensure consistency, felt safety, and shared language.

Do you offer support for parents or caregivers?

Yes! We provide caregiver support, psychoeducation, and consultation—either as a stand-alone service or alongside your child’s therapy or outreach care. Parent-child sessions and coaching can also be incorporated where helpful.

Are your services covered by insurance or funding?

Many of our services are covered by:

  • Extended health plans (check if your plan covers RCCs or Certified Therapists)

  • AFU (Autism Funding Unit)

  • MCFD (At Home/CFSD funding, where approved)

We’re happy to help you determine what’s eligible and how to submit for reimbursement.
